A little bit of nostaglia today. We used SnapMail internally at the AlphaGraphics store. Between stores we used SoftArc's FirstClass BBS system, but it was too resource intensive and too costly to deploy everywhere. The point-of-sale/scheduling software was running on Macintosh Classics, if the user was lucky, and only us high-falutin' designers had monitors larger than 9 inches.

Where the Portable Document Format came from. I was working at AlphaGraphics when I first encountered Acrobat. It was an incredible delight to view and print something consistently.

Many mail user agents open the next message after you delete a message you are reading. Microsoft Outlook tries to do this. How do you determine what the next message is?
Say you have a list:
- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
If you delete list item 3, what's the next item?
4
Say you have a list:
- 4
- 3
- 2
- 1
If you delete list item 3, what's the next item?
2
But Outlook reads UPWARDS.
