IM Feature: Displaying Names

Each IM user agent links to a directory in some way, to at least register the account presence, if not to load a buddy list. The Yahoo! Instant Messenger lets you edit the displayed name for the user, and stores that change in your Yahoo! Address Book. Yahoo! member profiles could contain a self-entered "Real Name" attribute. Why not let YIM pull this attribute from the member profile for use as the displayName?
