Off Roading

Truck crosses divider and forces my wife off the road. Tire blows out from impact. Tire forced back, damaging frame and steering. Wife drives the remaining 100 feet or so to our house. Parks. Calls me. I come home. Change tire. Next day, in the light, look at it. It's broken. Call insurance company. Get claim. Mechanic looks at it. It's worse than I thought.

Wake up. Call insurance company back. Arrange for assessment. Spend day working at home. Go to rent car. License has expired. Go home. Wife goes to rent car. Comes back. Lunch. Go to DMV. Wait in line. Learn I have an outstanding ticket in Mt. Pleasant. Can't renew license. Call 411. Call Mt. Pleasant Town Clerk. $85. They take cash. Will be open tomorrow between 0800 and 1600 EDT. Fine. Go home. Call to have Honda CR-V towed to shop. Call in to conference call. Work. Drink beer. Call tow company. It's getting late. Autobody shop will close soon. Truck arrives. Car loaded. Daughter unhappy that they're taking our car. Cries. Work. Dinner.
