I Feel a Need, the Need for Speed
Months after being prompted, between Sesame Street and Oobi, by Noggin's advertisements for the games at noggin.com. I finally thought to try them with the Big Sister. She likes Oobi.Daddy, it doesn't work for me.
And the need for speed doesn't sell broadband? The Big Sister's click rate is about 100 times mine, and I'm an impatient adult surfer. The need is there; pricing and availability aren't meeting it.

Historical Preservation
I'm looking at the costs and methods for copying 8mm film, VHS, and 8mm tape to whatever digital format so that I can burn DVDs, and maintain a clean copy of the original, in the event of a catastrophic system failure — like, God forbid, our house burning down. Don't know how I'll do this, yet, but I'll probably store the hard copies in this Rubbermaid Keepsake box. (While I'm organizing, chances are that our CDs will be copied, and maybe our 33 rpm phonographs.) The oldest film I've found in this set is dated 1944.While digging out the motion pictures, I found three undeveloped rolls of still film. One 126 cartridge that I exposed sometime in the 1970s, probably with a Kodak Instamatic 100, though the Instamatic 50 looks familiar too. The other two are, I think, 127.
