The Cheap and Easy Way to Get Administrator Privileges on an NT4 Box
The pre-requisites: the password to account with privileges to logon locally, and one schmuck. I need to confirm these procedures after converting the filesystem to NTFS.
- Logon as the less privileged user.
- Run rdisk.exe.
- Take the floppy to another box and run l0phtcrack.
- Return to the original box and logon as Administrator.
- Do a little dance.

So Close, Yet So Far Away
Local news media in the United States were often criticized for not having enough world news. That may be so, but now that I live on the Internet I find it easier to learn what happened last night in Tel Aviv than in Carmel. The national and global perspectives are well-covered. But there's an empty space in the local news market.
Today is primary day. And this has been a busy campaign, with two slates of Republican candidates swinging away at each other. One slate calls itself Team Carmel 2003. How sweet. A candidate on the other slate pulled out the big guns: his friendship with Rudy Giuliani. Yet because I am not intimately involved with the rivalry between these two groups, I have no idea for whom to vote. I need the story that only local sources can tell.
What I can tell you is that given the Republican majority in Carmel, whoever wins this election will trounce the Democratic and Green candidates in November.
